Dragonfly On Track

Dragonfly on Track is a Facebook group that is provided by two long serving teachers who are also parents. Their aim is to ensure that every young person can grow to be the best version of themselves. Their Facebook group is an online community that releases daily videos for parents to provide links between the 5 ‘Ways to Wellbeing’ adopted by the NHS. Additionally, they provide advice and resources for parents whose children have ASD/ADHD and ‘Top Tips’.

Rainbow of Hope - Religious Education

Tying in with our rainbow theme, this scheme of work offers promise-themed rainbow activities. There are activities that are suitable for all year groups.

Several educational websites are now offering free subscriptions to families. This will continue to be updated as they are released.

Phonics and Early Reading

http://www.phonicsplay.co.uk are offering free access, using the username march20 and password home. They are also offering free access to their free, decodable comic books, at http://www.phonicsplaycomics.co.uk.

Teach Your Monster to Read can also be accessed for free at http://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com (the app version requires payment).

Oxford Owl have also released a free e-book collection for children aged 3-11 years. You will need to create a log on at http://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

Scholastic have also released some wonderful activities based around Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler books such as The Scarecrow's Wedding and Stickman. These resources can be accessed at https://resource-bank.scholastic.co.uk/content/40114

Maths 

Your child will have been given their own Times Table Rockstars log in - this can be accessed via the app or at http://www.ttrockstars.com

TopMarks has a large selection of interactive Maths games for all children to enjoy (including Hit The Button). This is available at http://www.topmarks.co.uk

 

English and Reading

Pobble365 has writing prompts, story challenges  and comprehension questions based on daily pictures. This website does not require a subscription and can be found at http://www.pobble365.com

Similar to Pobble365 is Once Upon A Picture - a collection of picture prompts with questions and writing opportunities. This can be accessed at https://www.onceuponapicture.co.uk/

The Literacy Trust has created a Family Zone (birth to 12 years), with links to other resources such as reading challenges and poetry workshops  for your child to enjoy. This is available at https://www.literacytrust.org.uk/family-zone/

Audible Stories have made a wide selection of their audiobooks available for free. There is no app required - you can listen to them at https://stories.audible.com/

real PE at home – online learning resources

real PE at home includes an online programme which supports families to be active, play and learn together. It includes a programme specifically for children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 with 12 themes, 6 areas, over 250 activities and challenges and 1000s of hours of fun and activity. This programme is also great for family play and fun.

It also includes a programme for children in Key Stage 2, with daily and weekly guidance provided for both programmes (starting from next week) in addition to an option to choose your own themes and activities.

There are so many benefits to being active, not only to our physical wellbeing but also to our emotional and mental health, especially in such testing times for all of us.
